Why EcuTek is for you ? - Part 1
Well, On part 1 on this topic of why you should at least choose EcuTek for your EMS needs. I will be sharing the patented ignition timing management system Subaru employs to give that rush when you floor your accelerator; saves your engine when you became foolish by bolting on a monster turbo that jolly well flows more than your tiny little stock 380cc/min injectors can cope and last but not least, making sure that if your local petrol station uncle pumps in the wrong RON fuel your car stays in one piece....
And for those who is still shopping for the right kind of EMS for your ride, read on. Gather some knowledge. It will help you to decide better.
THE SUBARU PATENTED IGNITION MANAGEMENT WORKS LIKE THIS:
IGT = IGB + MBT
IGT = TOTAL OPTIMUM IGNITION ADVANCE
IGB = BASE MAP
MBT = MAXIMUM IGNITION ADVANCE CORRECTION
MBT IS THE VALUE THE FOLLOWING SUM OF VARIABLES IS TRYING TO ATTAIN:
IGL + AK
IGL = LEARNED CORRECTING QUANTITY
AK = KNOCKING FEEDBACK CORRECTING QUANTITY
IGL CAN BE FURTHER ANALYSED INTO:
IGL = AT + AP
AT = ROUGH IGNITION CORRECTION
AP = FINE IGNITION CORRECTION
BASED ON THE ABOVE, THE ACTUAL TIMING IS:
IGT = IGB + (AT + AP + AK)
AT & AP KEEP INCREASING THROUGH A CLOSED LOOP LEARNING PROCESS THAT MONITORS DETONATION PRESENCE.
ONCE THE SUM (AT + AP + AK) REACHES THE VALUE OF MBT, THE LEARNING STOPS AND THIS VALUE IS ADDED TO THE BASE MAP TO GIVE THE OPTIMUM IGNITION VALUE.
